March 19 News: Leonetti is back and some noteworthy beers!

WORDEN’S WINE & BEER SPECIAL, MARCH 19, 2010

2007 Leonetti Reserve Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon is back!!!
One of the most collectible and illusive of all wines made in the Pacific Northwest, this Reserve Cab from Leonetti absolutely stuns in 2007. Last years Reserve got 97 points from Parker, and this will surely rank highly as well. Too bad it will be long sold out by then! According to Robert Parker: "Gary Figgins and son, Chris, keep tweaking things in the vineyards and cellar as they move toward totally biodynamic farming. As usual, their wines are benchmarks against which others must be measured."
2005 Chateau Siaurac:
Reg. $27.99; Worden`s $19.99 btl/$17.99 when you buy 12.
That`s $120.00 per case savings!
A good intense color. Stone fruit aromas come through on the nose. A silky attack on the palate with a gentle, soft follow-through. An elegant wine with a very original finish of kirsch flavors coming through. Already enjoyable. Will be at its peak from 2007 and the following fifteen years.

BREWTOPIA: Two Noteworthy Beers

Red Chair NWPA
It has a plush body with satiny caramel flavors derived from seven varieties of malt.  Yet, despite it all, it remains a hop-forward ale with that distinctive citrusy punch.  Just minus any mouth-puckering bitterness.
noirbeer_32813 Noir De Dottignies, Belgian Strong Dark Ale style beer from Brouwerij De Ranke
The heaviest ale on our menu with a very rich taste, coming from the six different kinds of malt we use. These malts also give it that rich, dark, nearly black colour. The royal doses of Challenger and Saaz hops bring the typical balance between sweet and bitter.bitter.
